Annually, each of the 91 Soil and Water Districts in the State of Minnesota choose a landowner or organization that shows outstanding accomplishments with implementing conservation practices and improving Minnesota's natural resources. The Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation District (MASWCD), with support from the Farmer magazine, offer the MASWCD Outstanding Conservationist Award.

The recipients are honored at a special awards luncheon in conjunction with the annual meeting and trade show held in December. The luncheon is our way of expressing appreciation for their efforts in conserving soil and maintaining Minnesota's valuable resources. Following the luncheon, a slide show presentation of all of the Outstanding Conservationists from around the state is held and certificates are presented to each recipient. |

In addition to the local recognition, area finalists and the state winners are announced and honored at the luncheon. For several consecutive years, Blue Earth County Soil and Water Conservation had the privilege of having our conservationists be chosen as the Area VI winner. Two of our Outstanding Conservationists have been chosen as the state conservationist winners. |
