The Blue Earth County SWCD had ten 5th and 6th grade students from Immanuel Lutheran Elementary School compete in our poster contest. |

The Board of Supervisors judged the posters at their May monthly board meeting based on 50% impact of conservation message - written and artistically, 30% originality and 20% artistic arrangements. |

These top three posters were judged at the next level of competition which was our Area VI quarterly meeting representing thirteen counties. Three winners from the Area VI went on to be judged at the state level. |

Awards are presented to the winners at our Annual convention in December. At this level, students have a chance to win $100 for first place, $75 for second place, and $50 for third place. In addition, the first place hand drawn poster award winner is awarded a scholarship to a conservation camp. |
