  April 30 to May 7, 2006 was declared Stewardship Week by the National Association of Conservation Districts with the theme, "Water Wise".
  The Blue Earth County SWCD furnishes materials free of charge to churches and the community to help celebrate Stewardship Week. Stewardship Weeks is one of the largest National annual programs to promote conservation. http://www.stewardshipweek.com
  There are several ways to conserve water such as;
Taking short showers instead of baths
Don't let the water run while you are brushing your teeth
Check for faucet leaks and fix them
Install aerators on faucets
Put in low-flow shower heads and low flush toilets
Keep a cool bottle of water in your refrigerator instead of letting water run to get cold.
  In schools, educate students and families about resource conservation and water conservation.
  Many businesses have installed timed water fixtures in their businesses and agriculturally, they are exploring ways to dispose of unused chemicals properly, keeping untreated animal waste from entering water supplies and exploring ways of using soil moisture sensors to determine irrigation needs.
  Water is vital to our life. It helps make possible our every movement thought and feeling. All food and most other products we use require water. This precious resource may become increasingly scarce as we place more demands on fresh water supplies.
